These terms govern your use of Iber — the website at joiniber.com, the app at app.joiniber.com, and the assessment pages we serve. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Iber.
Iber is operated from Bengaluru, India. Contact: shiva@joiniber.com
1. Who can use Iber
You must be at least 18, or old enough to enter a contract where you live, whichever is higher. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in secure.
There are two kinds of account: builder (you are looking for work) and company (you are hiring). Builder accounts are free and will remain free. Companies pay to hire; commercial terms are agreed separately in writing.
2. What you post
You keep ownership of everything you post — your videos, your code, your repositories, your answers. You are not transferring your work to us.
You grant Iber a licence to host, store, encode, display and process that content for the purpose of running the platform: showing your build to companies, transcribing and grading your interviews, and generating your Iber Card. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for records we must keep (see Privacy).
You confirm that what you post is yours. Do not post work you did not build, code you do not have the right to share, or anything that infringes someone else's rights, breaches an NDA, or exposes your employer's confidential material. Passing off someone else's work as your own is the one thing that will get an account removed without warning.
3. Assessments and recordings
Assessments on Iber are recorded. Concretely, that means:
- Your camera and microphone are captured during interviews and spoken exams
- Your face is compared against a selfie you enrol, to confirm the person taking the assessment is you
- Proctoring signals are recorded — whether a face is in frame, whether another person appears, whether the window lost focus, and similar
These recordings and signals are shown to companies you apply to, as evidence alongside your results. Proctoring observations are notes for a human to read; they are not automatic judgements and they do not by themselves eliminate you.
You agree not to have anyone else take an assessment for you, not to use another person's identity, and not to attempt to manipulate the AI evaluator through your submitted content. Content that tries to instruct the evaluator is flagged to the company and does not affect your score.
If an assessment is ended by our systems, that take is not scored against you and your attempt is returned.
4. Verification
We check that a repository you post is under your own GitHub account, using the GitHub account you connect. We do not claim any check is infallible. Verification results, trust tiers and scores are our assessment, offered in good faith, and are not a guarantee to any company of your ability — or to you of any outcome.
5. For companies
If you use Iber to hire, you agree to use candidate data only to assess candidates for the role they applied to. You will not use it for any other purpose, will not share it outside your organisation, and will not use assessment recordings to train models. You will comply with applicable employment and data protection law, and you will not discriminate on any protected characteristic.
Access to candidate data ends when your account ends.
6. What we do not promise
Iber is provided as-is. We do not promise you will get a job, that a company will respond, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We build carefully and we fix what breaks, but we are an early-stage product and things will occasionally go wrong.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost opportunities or lost earnings. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
7. Ending it
You may delete your account at any time from the app, or by emailing us. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms — most importantly, for passing off work that is not yours, for identity fraud in an assessment, or for misuse of candidate data.
8. Changes
We will update these terms as the product changes. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru have exclusive jurisdiction.
